Participation Form Links

Every student must have a current sport physical, concussion form, and insurance form on file before attending any practice or tryout. Forms are available below or in the school office.

All athletes will need to complete the online registration at Rank One Sport before they can participate in a sport.

Athlete Expectations

Preseason Eligibility

To be eligible to tryout or practice with a Truesdell sport team the student must

Have passed a minimum of 5 classes in previous semester (KSHAA rule)
Have a sports physical dated after May 1 of the previous school year - uploaded to Rank One before tryouts or practices start

In Season Eligibility and Behavior Expectations

Academics First Policy
Weekly grade checks to determine weekly eligibility. Any student who has one failing (F) grade and an additional D or F will be placed on academic probation.

The process is two fold:

The first grade check is run and if any athlete has at least one failing grade and one additional D or F they will have a week of probation to improve their grades. SOAR (after school tutoring) is available and will be coordinated with coaches and athletes to help the student improve their grades.
A week later, another grade check will take place and if the student still has one failing grade and one additional D or F, he or she will be ineligible from competitions the following week (i.e Friday to Friday). Practice participation is up to each individual coach.

3 Strike Policy
Student athletes are not only expected to be in good academic standing but behavior standing as well. Student athletes are expected to follow all the school rules and expectations just like the rest of the student body. Not following the school rules and expectations will result in the student athlete starting the 3-strike policy.

Strike 1 – Conference with athlete, parent/guardian notified.
Strike 2 – Conference with athlete, parent/guardian notified, school administration notified.
Strike 3 – Athlete is removed from the team.

Out of School Suspension – 2 Strikes
In school Suspension – 1 Strike

(Students may not participate in games or practices on which days they are serving OSS or ISS)

School administration reserves the right to make exceptions as deemed necessary.

How to Use Rank One

Follow these steps:

To find your program, click on the Rankonesport link and select parents.
Next click on the online forms, select Kansas, select Wichita Public Schools.
You should be on the Welcome to the Parent Portal, select the Proceed to Online Forms button.
Create New Account. Enter your first name, last name, and email address. You will receive an email to confirm your account.
Search for your student using your students last name and student's ID number.
You can Find Another Student or Start Forms. Select View button to get to the forms.
Select each electronic document and complete it. Both parents and students should sign the forms.
For the physical upload, you can select either a PDF or a picture. Examples are given of what forms need to be uploaded. All physicals must be uploaded.** Using your phone for the physical upload is easier since you just have to take a picture and upload, but you can use either a computer or phone. If using a phone to upload, make sure that you are in the internet browser of the phone and not using the Rank One App.
Complete the six (6) electronic forms by selecting the forms and filling in all the required boxes and signatures.
When each form is completed, it will mark the form as approved. You can come back to your forms using your email and password.
